The Next Beginners Course will start on 22nd September

Venue ~ Main Hall, Cotgrave Leisure Centre, Woodview, Cotgrave, Notts NG12 3PJ

full dates are Feb 10, 17, 24, Mar 3, 10, 17

Start time 7pm prompt.  Finish time 9pm.

If you book on the course, you should complete all 6 sessions in order on the dates above.  There will be no catchup sessions for this course

The course consists of 6 x 2 hour sessions which are designed for someone who has never held a bow before, let along shot one, and those of you that have shot before but want refreshing on the basics.

The course cost includes

Hire of bows

Insurance

Coaching, with a maximum of 6 archers per coach, typically 4 per coach.

Course content includes

Shooting a bare bow – ie a bow no sights – you look down the arrrow to aim

Shooting a Recure bow – a bow with sights.

Breaking the shot down into 8 seperate steps to ensure that you can shoot safely.

Lots of fun and smiling are compulsory!!

On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a certificate of competency and will be able to join an archery club, hopefully Belvoir Archers.  From our recent course in April, we have already had 8 new members join the club, with at least 3 more planning to join in the next couple of weeks.

Clothing

You will need to wear suitable clothing for the day

You must wear suitable footware which must fully enclose the toes (no open toed shoes or sandles).

If you have long hair, ensure that you can tie it back or put a hat on to keep it from tangling with the equipment.  If you have any facial pearcings, we request that you take them out whilst shooting, you don’t want to catch one of them as you release the arrow –  ouch!!
